Feelin' the Love!

October 8, 2020

"Thank you!"

Truly, there are not words to express how your prayers, visits, calls, texts, social media comments, meals, and more have lifted my heart and spirits!

I AM a testament to the power of prayer. When you send me scriptures or tell me you have prayed for me, please know that the Lord connects each and every one of them to my immediate situation!

Here are some of the praises I give in response to your prayers:

  • My symptoms overall are mild!
  • I am sleeping better!
  • My appetite is excellent.
  • I am not fearful.
  • It was a special blessing to have Bruce cut my hair, then shave my head!
  • I don't mind being bald -- in fact I kind of like it! There's power in taking control!
  • I have been well enough to visit with close family and friends in person!
  • I have been able to travel to our ranch in Lovelady which is very relaxing.
Something I listened to this week resonated with me. The suggestion was that we don't spend enough time in any present moment focusing in on ALL that is going on in that moment. The narrator (Matthew McConaughey) was truly broad in using the word ALL. He mentioned that we are so narrowly focused on our very own moment that we miss the incredible expansiveness God's moments.  McConaughey took me through a God moment to realize how He is working universally in each one. It was profound and the thoughts process took my mind off my momentary situation to focus on HIS GLORY.

Stories for the Week:

I'd also like to share a couple of exciting things that happened in the last week!

Caring for Carter Mask Fundraiser

Use this link to join event on Facebook: https://fb.me/e/3g1xgTU1g

My dear friend Christine (Benedict) Wainwright started a mask fundraiser on Facebook. The masks will be black with the imprint of the breast cancer ribbon and the words "Caring for Carter." I love this! This effort brought to the forefront that I should choose a breast cancer organization to support. After doing a good bit of research, I have chosen Bright Pink as my organization.

Why Bright Pink? My personal aspiration in this experience is to encourage women to get early and regular screenings for breast cancer! Bright Pink supports that effort. Their tag line is "Moving from Awareness to Action!" They invest most of their fundraising into educating women about the importance of regular screenings and helping them estimate their risks for breast and ovarian cancers. They have excellent corporate sponsorships and have been in existence for over 11 years.

**All of the money raised and given to me from the "Caring for Carter" face mask effort will be donated to Bright Pink!** Click the logo below to visit their website!

Feel the BALDNESS!

This guy! 💗 I have known Shane Sherrill since before he was born! My heart just about exploded with happiness when he messaged me to say he was shaving his head in honor of my on Facebook Live!

Our families have been inextricably connected over the years. My father and Shane's grandfather (two great men) were friends for about 50 years. There are so many deep connections between our families, but, Shane, I think you just tied the biggest knot of love! Thank you from the innermost part of my heart. I am honored! And, you look great! We might both keep this look! Love you, sweet friend!
